You Are Not As Transparent As You Think

We often falsely believe that our true emotions are obvious to everyone around us. In reality, most people are entirely unaware of your inner thoughts, even when you feel your feelings are plain to see.

This phenomenon occurs because we are hyper-aware of our own internal state, so we assume others share that same access. You might feel like your anxiety or excitement is radiating off you, but bystanders usually miss these cues entirely. This bias keeps us from realizing just how much of our lives remains private. Recognizing this can actually help reduce social anxiety, as you realize you are less exposed than your brain claims.
