The Man Who Ruled Hollywood

The Man Who Ruled Hollywood

Arthur Krim held a top movie studio leadership role for nearly half a century. From the era of film noir to the modern blockbuster, he navigated Hollywood longer than almost anyone else in history.

While most studio executives burn out quickly, Krim served as chairman for three different major studios over four decades. He famously steered United Artists from the brink of collapse into a powerhouse powerhouse by trusting independent filmmakers. His influence was so vast that he even balanced his industry power with high-level roles as a presidential adviser. He essentially defined the business model for how movies were made and distributed for generations.
