The Roller Coaster Designed to Kill
An artist designed a hypothetical roller coaster specifically to end a passenger's life. The track features a sequence of extreme loops intended to cause fatal oxygen deprivation.
Created by Julijonas Urbonas, this grim conceptual model uses intense gravitational force to induce cerebral hypoxia. The ride begins with a long climb followed by a vertical drop, leading into seven consecutive loops that each tighten to keep blood away from the brain. It was envisioned as a way to transition into death with a sense of euphoria rather than fear. While it remains only an art project, it sparked intense global debate about the intersection of design and terminal illness.
