Everything You Think About Exists

Everything You Think About Exists

According to philosopher Alexius Meinong, every single thing you imagine, desire, or fear must have a form of existence. If it does not exist in our physical reality, it simply exists as a nonexistent object.

This idea challenges our intuition that thoughts only need to focus on real things. Meinong argued that because we can clearly think about mythical creatures or impossible ideas, there must be an object for those mental states to latch onto. He categorized these as existing in a unique way outside of standard reality. It is a fascinating perspective that suggests our minds can populate the universe with countless non-physical entities.
