Why Pianos Are Intentionally Out Of Tune

If you tuned a piano perfectly to nature, it would sound wrong in most keys. Modern tuning purposefully detunes notes by tiny amounts so that instruments can play in any musical key without sounding dissonant.

Pure mathematical intervals sound beautiful in isolation but fail when you try to change keys on a keyboard.
