A River That Plummets Off A Plateau

The Fallingwater River is a geological traveler that drops off the edge of a mountain plateau. Its journey ends in a dramatic 136-foot plunge known as Burgess Falls before feeding into a massive lake.

This stream flows through three distinct geological regions of Tennessee, shifting drastically in elevation as it goes. It begins on the Cumberland Plateau and winds through the highlands before cascading into the Nashville Basin.
