The World's Narrowest Living Space

Tucked between two existing buildings in Warsaw, the Keret House is a tiny structure measuring only 36 inches at its widest point. It is so slim that residents have to climb a ladder to move between its two stories.

This architectural wonder was created as a symbolic art installation to bridge gaps in a city with a fractured history. Despite its extreme lack of space, the house manages to include a bed, a tiny kitchen, and a bathroom. It was named after the Israeli writer Etgar Keret, who became the building's very first tenant. It serves as a creative reminder of how humans can adapt to even the most restricted living conditions.
