La Muralla Roja looks like an impossible digital puzzle, but it is actually a functional apartment complex. Its vibrant geometric stairs and dizzying towers were designed to mimic the feeling of a surreal Mediterranean fortress.

Built in 1973, this building defies traditional architecture by using a complex sequence of interconnected courtyards and rooftop terraces. The stunning contrast between the red walls and the deep blue sky creates an optical illusion that feels ripped from a dream. Architect Ricardo Bofill drew inspiration from North African kasbahs to create this maze-like structure. Today, it remains one of the most photographed and recognizable residential buildings in the world.
