Canada's Abandoned Prime Ministerial Home

The official residence of the Canadian Prime Minister has sat empty since 2015. Despite its high status, the historic building has fallen into such disrepair that leaders no longer live there.

Originally constructed in the 1860s, this grand estate has served as the home for many Canadian leaders over the decades. However, years of neglected maintenance and crumbling infrastructure made the building unsafe for habitation. Successive prime ministers have chosen to stay in alternative housing rather than deal with the massive renovation costs. It remains a ghostly landmark while its future currently hangs in limbo.
