Why Jung Split From Freud

Carl Jung invented analytical psychology specifically to distance his work from Sigmund Freud. Their famous partnership collapsed because Jung rejected the idea that every human motivation is rooted in childhood trauma or sexual desire.

Jung and Freud were close allies for years, but they eventually hit an irreconcilable intellectual wall.
