Your Brain Uses Others As Mirrors

Psychological projection happens when you subconsciously dump your own hidden flaws or secret feelings onto someone else. You effectively treat other people as billboards for your own internal experiences.

We often find ourselves judging in others the exact behaviors that we struggle to accept within ourselves. By pinning these traits on someone else, our minds protect our egos from feeling uncomfortable or guilty. It is a strange mental defense mechanism that turns our personal shadow into a critique of the outside world. Recognizing this pattern is often the first step toward gaining true self-awareness.
