The Culinary Ivy League of America

The Culinary Institute of America was the first school to teach the art of cooking as a formal degree. It houses more Certified Master Chefs than any other institution in the country.

While most professional chefs once learned through traditional apprenticeships, this school pioneered formal higher education for cooking. Students operate high-end public restaurants on campus to hone their craft before graduation. Because of its elite status and rigorous training, it is often called the Harvard of the culinary world. It remains the gold standard for those aspiring to master professional kitchen techniques.
