The Bird With A Twenty Foot Wingspan

Pelagornis was a prehistoric seabird with a massive wingspan of up to twenty-four feet. It lacked teeth, instead possessing bony, jagged projections that functioned like blades to snatch prey from the ocean.

This ancient giant was twice as large as the modern wandering albatross, making it one of the largest flying birds in history. Despite its immense size, its lightweight bones allowed it to soar over ancient oceans for vast distances. Its unique pseudo-teeth were not true teeth but extensions of the jaw bone used to grip slippery fish. Scientists believe these massive creatures ruled the skies for millions of years before eventually vanishing.
