Words Only Make Sense Within Games

A word does not have a fixed definition. Instead, it gains its meaning from the specific context or rule of the social game being played in that moment.

Think of language like a set of rules in a sport where the meaning of an action changes based on the game. If someone shouts water, it could be a desperate cry for help or a simple command to a waiter. Wittgenstein argued that searching for a dictionary definition is futile because life is a collection of shifting social interactions. By viewing language as a game, we realize that communication is about how we use words to navigate our daily lives.
