The Cybertruck looks like a low-polygon computer model because it is made from ultra-hard stainless steel that cannot be stamped into traditional curves. This flat, angular design is a functional byproduct of the steel’s extreme durability.

Most vehicles use a process where steel is pressed into complex, rounded shapes using giant metal molds. Tesla opted for a cold-rolled stainless steel exoskeleton that is far too rigid to bend this way. By sticking to flat panels, the designers traded standard aerodynamics for a design that is theoretically bullet-resistant.
