God Is The Only Cause
According to the theory of occasionalism, objects do not actually cause things to happen. Instead, God acts as the sole force behind every event, creating the illusion that one object influences another.
Imagine you drop a glass and it shatters. Occasionalism suggests the drop didn't cause the break; rather, God decided to break the glass at the exact moment you let go. It posits that there is no true physical connection between cause and effect in our world. Everything we perceive as a natural chain reaction is actually a series of direct interventions. This radical idea challenges our understanding of physics and agency.
