The Language With Only 120 Words
Toki Pona is a language designed to simplify thought by using only about 120 core words. Instead of complex vocabulary, it combines simple concepts to express everything from deep philosophy to daily life.
Created by Canadian linguist Sonja Lang, this language aims to shift your perspective by forcing you to boil ideas down to their absolute essence. You cannot say complex things quickly, but you can describe almost anything using basic building blocks. Because it is so compact, people often learn to speak it fluently in just a few weeks. It has even been used to translate famous stories like The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
