The Illusion of a Mind-Body Gap

The Illusion of a Mind-Body Gap

We struggle to explain consciousness not because it is non-physical, but because our brains use two different conceptual systems to process the same reality. This creates an internal mental mirage that feels like a gap where none exists.

This theory suggests that the mystery of consciousness is actually a quirk of how our minds categorize information. We have one set of concepts for physical data and another for our personal experiences. Because these two frameworks do not easily translate into one another, we mistakenly believe consciousness exists outside of physical laws. If we can map out why our minds split these concepts, the long-standing debate over physicalism may finally disappear.
