The Computer That Landed On The Moon

The Apollo Guidance Computer was the first to use silicon chips. Despite its massive role in moon landings, it had less processing power than a basic modern greeting card.

NASA engineers pushed boundaries by packing thousands of integrated circuits into a small box to navigate space. It only had about 64 kilobytes of memory, which is laughably small by today's standards. Yet, this humble hardware successfully steered astronauts to the lunar surface and back home safely. It remains a legendary achievement in engineering that proved complex missions were possible with very limited technology.
