The Man Who Launched Futurist Chaos

The Man Who Launched Futurist Chaos

Filippo Marinetti founded the Futurist movement, which celebrated speed, violence, and technology. He shockingly believed that war was the only true hygiene for a stagnant world.

Marinetti launched his movement in 1909 with a manifesto published on the front page of a major newspaper. He loved loud, industrial machines and famously hated the museums and traditions of the past. His radical ideas eventually drew him into the fold of early Italian politics. His influence left a strange, aggressive mark on modern art that still sparks intense debate today.
