The Great Wall is Actually Many

The Great Wall of China is not a single, continuous structure. It is a fragmented network of independent walls, trenches, and natural barriers built by different dynasties over two thousand years.

Many people imagine one long, unbroken line, but the reality is much more complex. These fortifications were built using various materials like stone, wood, and even rammed earth depending on the region. Large sections were constructed centuries apart and often served different strategic purposes. Because the wall is so discontinuous, some areas are just disconnected segments that never met at all.
