The Dutch Advocacy Group That Resurrected

Bits of Freedom is a digital rights group that officially died in 2006. It vanished for three years due to a total lack of funding before miraculously restarting its work in 2009.

This Dutch organization fights to protect privacy and secure communication in our digital world. After shutting its doors completely, it managed to make a rare comeback thanks to support from the Internet4All Foundation. Their return shows how essential digital advocacy groups are, even when they struggle to survive. Today they remain a key voice for online freedom in Europe.
