The Prehistoric Armadillo With A Mace Tail

The Doedicurus was a prehistoric tank weighing over 3,000 pounds that carried a massive, spiked tail club. This ancient giant used its spiked tail like a medieval mace to battle rivals or fend off predators.

This massive creature was a relative of the modern armadillo, but it was far more intimidating than its tiny descendants. Its tail featured a heavy, bony club that could be swung at incredibly high speeds to deliver devastating blows. Scientists believe these giants even engaged in ritualized combat with one another using these spiked tails. Despite their heavy armor, they were remarkably agile for their size and could even stand on their hind legs when needed.
