A House That Follows The Sun

The Heliotrope is a rotating home that tracks the sun to maximize energy efficiency. By moving with the daylight, it generates more power than it consumes, staying warm in winter and cool in summer.

Designed by architect Rolf Disch, this house functions like a giant sunflower that turns to capture solar rays throughout the day. Its triple-glazed facade follows the sun's path, while the back remains insulated to prevent heat loss. This ingenious design produces five times more energy than the household requires. Beyond just a house, these structures have served as high-tech office spaces and exhibition centers.
