Airplane Air Comes From Engines

The air you breathe in a commercial airplane is actually stolen directly from the engines. It is compressed and heated by the turbines before being cooled and pumped into your cabin.

You might assume the air is stored in tanks, but it is continuously harvested during flight through a process called engine bleed air. This extracted air is extremely hot and must be cooled down significantly before it reaches the passengers. Safety systems ensure the air is cleaned and filtered, making it perfectly breathable despite its unconventional source. It is a brilliant engineering feat that keeps you comfortable at altitudes where humans could not normally survive.
