Why UFOs Are Actually Just Unidentified

The term UFO does not mean alien spacecraft; it simply means an object in the sky that investigators could not immediately identify. Most sightings turn out to be ordinary weather balloons, bright planets, or optical illusions.

The label was originally created by the Air Force to move away from the specific shape of saucers. Even today, the vast majority of these reports are easily explained as mirages, drones, or natural atmospheric light. Only a tiny fraction of observations remain truly mysterious after a full review. Scientists now use terms like UAP to better reflect that these events are just aerial phenomena that haven't been sorted out yet.
