The Animals That Survive On Fruit
A frugivore is an animal whose diet consists almost entirely of raw fruit. These specialized eaters play a critical role in nature by traveling long distances and spreading seeds throughout the forest.
While many animals snack on berries occasionally, true frugivores rely on fruit for nearly all their energy. By eating these sweet treats, they act as the primary gardeners of the rainforest. They swallow seeds whole and deposit them in new locations through their waste, which helps entire forests grow and regenerate. Without these fruit-loving travelers, many rare plant species would simply disappear from the landscape.
