Originally claiming to be a prophet named Moise, Thériault split from the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1978 to create his own twisted reality. He exerted total control over his followers, demanding absolute submission through fear and extreme violence. The group existed in a cycle of isolation and terror that eventually revealed the horrific extent of his totalitarian grip.
