José García Villa was obsessed with commas, placing them after every single word in his poems. This unconventional style earned him the nickname The Comma Poet and transformed how readers experience poetic rhythm.

Villa believed that commas were essential to control the exact pacing of a poem, forcing the reader to pause after every word. He even created a unique rhyme scheme called reversed consonance to challenge traditional structural norms. Beyond his writing, he went by the pen name Doveglion, a blend of dove, eagle, and lion. His experimental work was so influential that literary giant E. E. Cummings dedicated an entire poem to him.
