The Hidden Artistic Legacy of Arcus II
Long before their rise to gaming stardom, a trio of legendary composers created the soundtrack for Arcus II. These same musical visionaries later defined the iconic soundscapes of the Tales series and the Golden Sun franchise.
While Arcus II was a niche Japanese title, it served as an early playground for Masaaki Uno, Yasunori Shiono, and the prolific Motoi Sakuraba. Sakuraba, in particular, eventually became one of the most celebrated composers in RPG history. The game also featured the artistic touch of Narumi Kakinouchi, who was simultaneously shaping the aesthetic of famous gothic manga. It is fascinating how these distinct creative paths crossed in such an obscure digital origin.
