The Violent Death Of Living Cells

Unlike orderly, programmed cell death, necrosis is a chaotic internal explosion. It occurs when cells are forced to die from trauma or infection, triggering a messy, unregulated breakdown that can prove fatal to the entire body.

Think of apoptosis as a tidy recycling program where cells self-destruct in a controlled, helpful way. Necrosis, however, is the complete opposite because the cell wall ruptures and spills toxic contents into the surrounding area. This process often triggers dangerous inflammation and tissue damage that the body cannot easily manage. It is essentially a biological disaster rather than a part of a natural life cycle.
