Despite its name, Hedonism II does not have a predecessor. The resort skipped the first installment entirely, beginning its legacy directly with the second location.

When the resort launched in Jamaica, the founders simply chose the name Hedonism II to give the brand an established, world-weary air. It was a marketing tactic designed to make guests feel like they were joining a secret society with a deep history. While a Hedonism III eventually opened, it shuttered in 2010, leaving the original second version as the most iconic survivor.
