From Abandoned Gravel Pit to Oasis

It is hard to imagine this lush paradise was once a scarred industrial site. In the 1970s, designers and local contributors worked to turn the abandoned land into a masterpiece of tranquility. The project was bolstered by generous donations of plants and materials from Fort Worth’s Japanese sister city, Nagaoka. This transformation remains a testament to how human vision can reclaim nature from urban decay.
