A Tiny Predator With Lethal Venom
Despite being smaller than a golf ball, the blue-ringed octopus carries enough potent toxin to kill twenty-six adult humans within minutes. There is no known antidote for its bite.
This palm-sized creature is widely considered one of the deadliest animals in the ocean. When threatened, its dull skin flashes with vibrant, pulsing blue rings as a warning to potential attackers. Its venom contains tetrodotoxin, a neurotoxin also found in pufferfish that causes paralysis and respiratory failure. Most victims don't even feel the bite, which makes the encounter incredibly dangerous for unsuspecting swimmers.
