Feral children are often described in legends as being raised by wild animals, but no evidence supports these claims. Experts confirm that while children may live near animals, they are never actually fed or cared for by them.

The romantic idea of humans being adopted by wolves or primates exists largely in folklore and literature. In reality, children found in such conditions are almost always survivors of severe isolation or extreme human abuse. Once separated from human interaction, a child’s capacity for language and social development is profoundly hindered.
