A Garden Designed by Scientific Laws

This 30-acre garden in Scotland is not planted for beauty alone, but to mimic complex mathematical patterns and cosmological theories. It visualizes the birth of the universe through landscape design rather than traditional flowers.

Charles and Maggie Jencks created this space to serve as a physical map of modern science and cosmic history. Every hill, lake, and sculpture represents concepts like black holes, fractals, and the expansion of the universe. Instead of focusing on greenery, the garden uses geometry and physics as its primary building blocks. It stands as a rare example of how deep scientific theories can be translated into a living, breathing landscape.
